In 2021, we began sharing our experience in Early Years Education and Care with the Busby community. Our unique approach to early learning gives our children the platform to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically in the way it best suits them. We pride ourselves on catering to children of all needs and abilities, including children diagnosed with disabilities and developmental delays supported through our additional programs. Our team of multidisciplinary carers and educators foster a holistic approach providing the utmost care and enhancing your child’s cognitive and social abilities while having fun!
At Scribbles and Giggles Childcare Centres, our mission is to provide a unique learning experience designed to enhance your child’s cognitive and social abilities while having fun!
We promise to make education the best part of your child’s day by providing award-winning services throughout centres.
Sustainability:
Our Sustainability program recognises educators, children and our communities role in facilitating and promoting sustainable communities. Children engage in hands-on learning experiences supporting their understanding of zero hunger, climate action, life on land, and life below water. Through our Earth Ambassador families can showcase their home sustainability practices.
Inclusion Program:
Our Inclusion Program educates children on what Inclusion is, what it looks like for them and how to embrace it among their peers. We believe educating children on the importance of Inclusion will foster the beginning of an inclusive community for future generations. Children engage in informative group sessions and hands-on learning experiences to build their understanding to eliminate barriers to Inclusion.
Education:
Our Educational Program offers children hands-on intentional learning experiences specifically designed to meet the family’s goals as well as reach their developmental milestones. Children are supported to develop an understanding of identity, community, wellbeing, confidence as learners, effective communicators, resilience and growth mindset.
Families have the unique opportunity to select learning goals for their child to develop the creation of an individual learning plan.
Fitness:
Our Fitness program is designed to encourage participation and development of the specific gross motor movements that involve the whole body such as stretching, bending, balancing, walking and running. These skills are the building blocks for more complex and specialised skills required for children to participate in games and sports.
Gardening:
Our Gardening Program provides children the opportunity to care for our learning environments while learning about their environment. Children learn new skills, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending to plants and growing their own food.
Cooking:
Our Cooking program supports children in exploring different cultural events through food. Each child can express their creativity through food presentation whilst developing their understanding of recipes and cooking methods and extending their tastes.
Yoga:
Our Yoga Program nurtures children’s mental and physical development. Yoga helps children build strength and find mental and physical balance.
Lunch & Languages:
We recognise the earlier a child starts learning another language, the better. A toddler’s mental agility enables them to easily mimic, learn and retain new knowledge. Our Lunch and Languages program supports this theory and encourages families to honour the strength of their home language and use it to support their relationships with others.
Indigenous Program:
Our Indigenous Program educates and acknowledges the First Nations people and their valuable history. We believe educating children on the importance of inclusive practices and Australian History will foster the beginning of an inclusive community for future generations.
At Scribbles and Giggles Childcare Centre Busby, we believe in the importance of creating a welcoming and diverse environment for all children to feel safe, secure and supported while building trusting and reciprocal relationships with educators.
Creating trusting relationships with families is a key contributor to children feeling safe in our service, which is why we pride ourselves on the positive relationships we have with our families. Our relationships with families have become the foundation of our service, we have an open-door policy and encourage families to share their cultural values and traditions to contribute to creating meaningful experiences for children. We encourage families to be active in their child’s journey at our centre, and welcome suggestions and feedback. We critically reflect on our practices and strive to continuously improve the quality of education and care we provide.
Our mission is to provide children with unique learning experiences designed to enhance their cognitive, physical, emotional, and social abilities with guidance from the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework, and the National Quality Standards. Each child’s creativity is promoted through a play-based, flexible, and responsive learning approach. By creating safe and engaging environments, with a variety of opportunities, we can observe children display their interests and ideas, share, and build independence, and explore creativity and imagination. We view children as competent learners with the right to voice, which aligns with our commitment to the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.
Our program provides a balance between child-led, child-initiated, and educator-supported learning experiences. Educators use a variety of routines and experiences to actively engage and build a relationship with children. As educators, we also recognise spontaneous teachable moments to facilitate children’s natural curiosity for learning.
We offer extracurricular activities designed to enhance learning outcomes, with a key focus. Our Education Program is offered as a foundation, focusing on the importance of developing knowledge and skills for numeracy, literacy and language, science and technology, sensory systems, and self-help. Our Fitness Program encourages physical activity, and healthy habits and is guided by fundamental movements. Our Cooking Program is an opportunity to learn about the diversity of cultures, symbolic events, and healthy eating through practical cooking experiences. We believe our Cooking and Fitness Program allows children to understand the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle through cooking experiences and planned physical activity in our daily routine.
We acknowledge and recognise the traditional custodians of the land and we pay respect to past, present, and emerging generations. We believe in creating an inclusive environment for all children, families, and educators. Our educators are the heart of our Inclusion journey, ensuring all children have equal access to our programs and active engagement in every experience. We regularly reflect, adapt, and modify our environments to maximise all children’s inclusion. We trust that our Inclusion and Indigenous Perspectives program will pave the way for an inclusive community, by educating children on the importance of celebrating diversity.
We believe in the importance of community engagement, to support children’s wellbeing and understanding of the world around them. We work closely with local schools, Early Intervention services, businesses and the wider community through various events and projects throughout the year.
We believe in promoting sustainable and gardening practices in everyday living, to help children learn the importance of protecting their environment. We pride ourselves in our projects to allow for collaborative efforts in caring for our environment.
We are committed to protecting our environment to ensure a sustainable future for our children and we encourage awareness of environmental responsibilities and respect the environment through our practices, sustainability program and centre policies.
Our team is cohesive, inspiring, and passionate, with a shared mission of providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children. Each team member brings fundamental personal qualities to the centre. Our team recognises that all children have a voice that can influence the world around them, their routines, and experiences. We support and value all input into decision-making by our staff and encourage them with their professional development. We acknowledge the importance of working as a team to provide high-quality care and education and further understand our role as advocates for children and their rights. We encourage continuous professional development and growth within our service into leadership roles, aligning with our mission statement and centre philosophy.
